Ousted, extreme leftist-leader and former Honduran president, Manuel Zelaya, was greeted by protesters and soldiers on the ground along with circling military aircraft as he tried to return to Honduras a short while ago.  After trampling on his nation’s constitution by attempting to abolish term limits (a la Hugo Chavez), Zelaya was taken from his sleep at gunpoint by military members and flown to Costa Rica in his night-gown.  Not Surprisingly, other radical leftists such as Miguel D’Escoto (president of the United Nations General Assembly), Fidel and Raul Castro, Hugo Chavez, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama have supported his return to power.

At least one person was killed and several were injured as soldiers opened fire and let off tear gas rounds after at least 10,000 supporters of the Leftist leader descended on the airport outside the capital, Tegucigalpa.

During his flight, on which he was accompanied by Miguel D’Escoto, the president of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr Zelaya appealed to the new regime “in the name of God, in the name of the people, and in the name of justice,” to allow him to land, after it ordered the armed forces to prevent him from entering Honduran air space and instead divert to El Salvador.

But the new administration, which ousted Mr Zelaya over his plans for a referendum to allow him to change the constitution and seek re-reelection, was determined not to let him return after the country was suspended at an emergency meeting of the Organisation of American States in Washington.

As freedom loving Americans, it is comforting to know that we are not alone in the world when it comes to standing up against overbearing, overreaching, and oppressive government.  The people of Honduras and Iran clearly have had enough of the extreme leftists.
