Biden Shares Brain on the Economy, Iran, and More

Sunday Paper - July 5th, 2009

Vice President Joe Biden said the Obama administration “misread how bad the economy was” but stands by its stimulus package and believes the plan will create more jobs as the pace of its spending picks up…
“We misread how bad the economy was, but we are now only about 120 days into the recovery package,” Biden added. More jobs will be created in coming months, he said.
Really? It’s not too hard to imagine Obama and his minions “misreading” anything related to business and/or the economy since they are lifetime bureaucrats with zero ‘real-world’ experience in the private sector. I’m sure that managing a Dunkin Donuts franchise to profitability would prove to be too difficult a challenge for them. In the ‘real-world’ you can’t simply raise taxes (for capital to fuel operations) once your idiotic strategies and tactics have bankrupted your business.
The Obama administration cannot grasp the concept that the printing and confiscating (from America’s most productive) of $787 billion does not increase GDP. Of course, Biden does not rule out throwing good money after bad, adding that ‘it’s premature to say whether the country will need a second stimulus package.’

Biden goes on to show that his lack of understanding basic economic fundamentals is not overshadowed by his naivety on foreign policy. When queried for his insight on U.S.-Iranian relations, Biden offered up this gem:
“If the Iranians respond to the offer of engagement, we will engage,” Biden said. “The offer’s on the table.”
Certainly, a brutal regime that beats and kills its own citizens (including women, both young and old) will be won-over by the ever-charming Barack Obama. My fellow Americans, The White House has become ‘a castle in the sky.’
