President Barack Prima Donna

Perhaps a name change is in order for Barack Obama.  By the behavior exhibited a more fitting name might be Barack Prima Donna.  As Americans lose homes and jobs, are lectured as to how they will have to sacrifice more and work even harder, and their children and grandchildren are indebted and enslaved by nearly two trillion dollars (with interest) of deficit spending; the Obama family is living it up like “self-entitled royalty,” courtesy of the unappreciated, struggling taxpayers.

I find this scary. Great leaders do not say after just two weeks on the job that they are tired of being in their office. Great leaders do not complain and they certainly do not have wives that joke about being paroled from living in a mansion.

Throughout the campaign, it was abundantly clear the Obamas were completely out of touch with Middle America. Now that they “won,” they continue to exhibit arrogance beyond comprehension. Joking to these students who may very well be economically challenged that they “let” her leave her home where servants make her candy and she can bowl in her basement is one of the most callous and ignorant statements that Michelle has made to date.

But my suspicion, based on Obama’s behavior to date, is that Obama does not really plan on working hard at all — he plans on delegating. And what could prove this hypothesis better than the way in which he delegated possibly the most important legislation of his administration to the devices of Nancy Pelosi. While Nancy and her money hungry colleagues toiled day and night adding more and more pork to the spending bill, the Obamas were taking a break from the rigors of just three weeks in the White House to vacation at Camp David.

Yes, a weekend at Camp David was not enough of a rest for the First Family. They required a weekend in Chicago in order to celebrate Valentine’s Day this past weekend. It would seem that Michelle was not satisfied with the White House chef that she hand picked to cook for her for the next four years so after just a brief ride on Air Force One, the Ones found themselves snuggling in a corner booth at a swanky restaurant in their home town.

The Obamas have never truly experienced hard work despite their rhetoric requiring the citizens of the country to prepare themselves for years of it (someone has to earn a living and pay taxes so that the Obamas will be able to vacation at whim and elaborately celebrate superfluous holidays).

Furthermore, Barack Obama has had a loud mouthpiece aimed at perceived waste in the private sector.  But like a good liberal, it is do as I say not as I do.  Obama has been flying Air Force One (on the taxpayer dime) as obsessively as a young child plays with his new favorite toy on Christmas day.

He flew out to Indiana then back to Washington.  It was Florida the next day.  Add in trips to Virginia and Chicago along with another trip to Camp David on Marine One.  Yesterday he flew out to Denver to sign the spending bill (he needed large solar panels as a backdrop for the photo-op).  From there it was off to Arizona.  He plans on making his first stop on foreign soil in Canada.  That’s a lot of fuel in just four weeks! 

The arrogance and hypocrisy is astounding.  Again, it’s YOU that needs to drive a two-seat hybrid or better yet a bicycle, while he does the polar opposite.  It is apparent that Obama is not familiar with the term “lead by example.”  An Obama spokesperson has said that he hopes to get out of Washington at least once a week, to stay connected with Americans.  Mr. Obama, the campaign is over.  It is now time to hunker down in your office, take off your jacket, loosen your tie, roll up your sleeves, and get to work!  History will judge you as a President NOT on what you SAY, but on what you actually DO.

And one more thing Mr. President, since we the taxpayer don’t ask you for anything other than to be able to keep more of our own money, could you show some sign of gratitude or appreciation for Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer.  After all, we are the ones  affording you this opulent lifestyle.  A simple thank you would be nice.
