Obama Mandates U.S. Aid in Provision of Abortions

Sunday Paper - January 25th, 2009
Wasting no time was President Obama, who on his fourth day in office signed an executive order lifting a ban on U.S. funding of international organizations which “provide abortions or advise women on how to get them.” The directive was signed by Obama late Friday afternoon, and word of the signing was not given to the press until around 7:00 PM.
Camera crews, photographers, and reporters began assembling in the White House press briefing room in the mid-afternoon. After an hour of waiting patiently, they were dismissed without witnessing the official event or even seeing Obama.
The signing came just one day after the 36th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade and the March for Life on the National Mall.
